Since everything here has been under 3ft of snow for what seems like forever and I am stuck indoors I thought why not some more of my favorite animals in the world; the rare and precious albinos. They fascinate me with their absolute beauty and ethereal quality. Often they become outcasts among their own kind because they are different, the albino animals that are normal prey fall often because they have no camouflage which is often their only defense. The predatory albino animals often starve because, again they have no camouflage, but their need is for stealth to hunt. In the wild, on either side, predator or prey, being albino is often a death sentence. I am not an advocate of most zoos unless they are for preservation, education, rehabilitation, re- release when possible and all their charges are in the best possible environments and best care for as long as they are there. For many albino animals life would be much shorter without human intervention. Thankfully a lot of the rarest albino animals are held in greatest respect and significance in many cultures in their native lands and are usually treated as the gifts on earth they are. They are worshipped, protected and treated with honor. So here we go:
